Joseph Wolfskill and Sarah Reid had one stepson, and thirteen children (all documented in the family bible), who gave them many, many grandchildren. We list below their children and grandchildren, natural-born and otherwise, for whom there is reasonable evidence. Our main reference for these two generations of descendants are the genealogical notes of Joseph and Sarah's grandson Edward "Ned" Wolfskill, who attempted to document the names of his many cousins. There are a few instances where census returns reveal the names of additional cousins whom Ned does not list in his notes. We need to mention that there are also a number of family trees on the internet that have come up with the names of additional grandchildren, but almost always without documentation, and frankly we doubt the validity of most of these.
William Joseph Wolfskill (1795-1876) was a stepson of Joseph and Sarah Wolfskill, whom they raised as their own. He married Susannah Wheeler (1801-1872) on Oct. 8, 1817 in Garrard County, Kentucky, and they had the children who follow.
